The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) in Australia is proud to announce it has been accepted as an Interim Full Member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) on 24 March.

ACFID is the peak body for Australian not-for-profit organisations involved in international aid and development, working to strengthen their collective impact against poverty. The ACFID Code of Conduct is a voluntary, self-regulatory code of good practice that sets standards for governance, accountability, transparency and financial stewardship, with AKF Australia is now a signatory to.

This is an important step for AKF in Australia, reflecting the high standards that have long defined AKF’s work globally. ACFID membership gives further assurance to donors, government partners, staff, contractors, volunteers and the communities we work with in how we operate and deliver impact.

As an ACFID member, we join a network of like-minded organisations that share our focus on locally led development, enabling shared learning, collective advocacy, and coordinated action in pursuit of a more just and equitable world.

This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire AKF Australia community: our team, our partners and the incredibly generous donors who make our work possible. It is both a recognition of where we have come from and an exciting foundation for what lies ahead.

We look forward to contributing our voice, experience and energy to the ACFID network and to continuing our shared mission of alleviating poverty and protecting human dignity around the world.
