Since Olga was seven years old, she dreamed of growing up to become a nurse like her grandfather. She recently graduated from the Pemba nursing school, with a goal of working to save the lives of women and their newborns.
Joyce and Nelly are community health volunteers who provide lifesaving information about maternal and child health in their communities, and ensure community members can access the care they need. This film follows Joyce as she makes home and clinic visits to newborns in Tanzania, and Nelly as she makes a home visit to discuss family planning in her community.
