Overview
The Aga Khan Foundation and the Mountain Societies Development Support Programme (MSDSP) have operated in the Kyrgyz Republic since 2003, with a mandate to improve the livelihoods of select communities in mountainous rural and semi-urban areas. Accelerate Prosperity was launched by the Aga Khan Foundation in 2019 to promote entrepreneurship and small and growing businesses across the country.
In the Kyrgyz Republic, the Aga Khan Foundation and its main implementing partners – the MSDSP and Accelerate Prosperity – lead a range of integrated, innovative and gender sensitive programmes across all seven oblasts of the country.
By actively supporting the Kyrgyz Republic government’s goals, the Aga Khan Foundation is committed to enhancing the quality of life for the country’s citizens, especially in the fields of education, empowering women and youth through entrepreneurship, and contributing to the creation of resources and high-quality facilities for early-childhood development, climate resilience, agriculture, and healthcare.
