The women running solar-powered flour mills in Uttar Pradesh
Meet Maya Devi and Neelam, inspiring women from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, who are revolutionising their village with solar-powered flour mills.
Using energy from solar panels initially set up for irrigation, Maya and Neelam have eliminated the need for villagers to travel long distances for wheat grinding.
What started as an observation of unused solar energy has now turned into a thriving all-women enterprise.
These women not only earn income but also contribute to their families, with plans to expand their business further. Having a flour mill supported by EKOenergy within their village has greatly reduced both the work and time burden of women.
